Tri-West sophomores escape a building collapse in North Salem

“In North Salem this afternoon, Tri-West sophomores Kameryn Collier and Kennedy Hayes escaped a terrifying ordeal as the building they were in began to collapse. The girls were inside the Rustic Cactus, an old structure that had been showing signs of disrepair.Suddenly, the walls began to cave in, and the girls ran for their lives. Fortunately, they made it out safely, but the building will have to be torn down due to its structural instability. This is a reminder of the importance of maintaining the safety of our structures and takingproper precautions in older buildings. The girls were lucky to escape, but this incident highlights the need for regular inspections and maintenance of all structures, particularly those that may be at risk of collapse. Have you ever been in a situation like this, or have you heard of any similar incidents?
