Tri-West sophomores escape a building collapse in North Salem

 


“In North Salem this afternoon, Tri-West sophomores Kameryn Collier and Kennedy Hayes escaped a terrifying ordeal as the building they were in began to collapse.The girls were inside the Rustic Cactus, an old structure that had been showing signs of disrepair.Suddenly, the walls began to cave in, and the girls ran for their lives. Fortunately, they made it out safely, but the building will have to be torn down due to its structural instability. This is a reminder of the importance of maintaining the safety of our structures and takingproper precautions in older buildings. The girls were lucky to escape, but this incident highlights the need for regular inspections and maintenance of all structures, particularly those that may be at risk of collapse. Charla Nash was severely mauled by her friend's pet

 In 2009, a woman named Charla Nash was severely mauled by her friend's pet chimpanzee named Travis. Travis had been raised like a human and could even perform basic tasks like using the toilet, making coffee, and riding in a car. However, on the day of the attack, something seemed to trigger the chimpanzee, and he viciously attacked Nash, biting her face, hands, and feet. Nash survived the attack, but she suffered severe injuries and had to undergo multiple surgeries. This case raised questions about the safety of keeping chimpanzees as pets and whether people truly understand the dangers of owning a wild animal. After the attack, there was a renewed debate about whether chimpanzees should be allowed as pets, and whether stronger regulations should be put in place to protect people and animals. the disappearance of Bobby Linhart

 In March of 2017, 14-year-old Bobby was reported missing from his home in Phoenix, Arizona. His mother, Sarah Linhart, told police that she had last seen him at their home the previous evening. She said that Bobby had taken a shower and gone to bed, and she assumed he was still in his room when she woke up the next morning. But when she went to check on him, he was nowhere to be found.  After Sarah reported Bobby missing, police searched the neighborhood and interviewed family and friends, but they found no sign of the boy. Two days after Bobby went missing, police received a tip that he had been seen at a nearby bus station. However, surveillance footage from the station showed no sign of Bobby. The case went cold, and Bobby’s family began to fear the worst. Then, in May of 2017, police received a tip that Bobby had been seen near a highway about 100 miles from Phoenix.
