3 year old Elijah Vue went missing on February 20. The blanket was found about 3.7 miles from where Elijah was last seen.
On July 21, 2019, Elijah’s parents reported him missing from their home in central Oklahoma. The family had only recently moved to Oklahoma from Minnesota, so they didn’t have many connections in the area. After two days of searching, the police were no closer to finding Elijah. They continued to ask for the public’s help, and even brought in the FBI to assist in the investigation.
The police soon realized that there was one person they hadn’t yet spoken to: Elijah’s babysitter. When the police contacted the babysitter, she said that she hadn’t seen Elijah since the previous day. The police began to suspect that the babysitter might be hiding something, and they brought her in for questioning. After hours of interrogation, the babysitter finally confessed to the unthinkable: she had killed Elijah.
After confessing, the babysitter told the police where she had hidden Elijah’s body. She had wrapped him in a blanket and left him in a shallow grave, just a few miles from his home. The babysitter was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Elijah’s parents were devastated by the news, and they struggled to understand how someone they had trusted could have done such a thing. The babysitter’s trial is still ongoing, and we will continue to provide updates as they become available.
